Projects
Revival of this website is currently the main project of the Friends Media Project, though there are hopes to move back into previous areas of concern. One objective of this ministry will be to provide web design services to Quaker groups free of charge so they can share their public ministry with up-to-date professional websites. Many of these will be done by Dana Kester-McCabe, but others who are willing to donate their services are invited to take up projects as they are so led. Toward that end a network of “Friendly” web artisans is being organized. Professional writers, photographers and other artisans whose services might be needed on such projects will also be sought to be put in direct contact with groups needing those services. To apply to have a website created or redesigned groups need the following: 1. To be associated with a Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly Meeting or working group of a well known established Friends organization 2. To have a minute of support approved by that body and signed by the acting clerk of that body 3. To have a verifiable postal address and working phone number for the contact person of the project as well as the acting clerk of the organization they are under the care of 4. To have a reliable contact person that the groups’ needs, concerns and input can be funneled through 5. To have clearly written objectives and a reasonable timeline projected for the work needed 6. To provide all written materials and photographs in digital form with copyright permissions properly secured as needed 7. To have already a web address and hosting account or the financial ability to get one. (This is usually no more than $150 total. Small sites of 5 pages or less may be eligible for free space on friendsmedia.org but domain names are the responsibility of the applicants) Anyone wanting to apply for a website, to join in this work, or to submit a guest blog, should email: Past projects of the FMP include:
